Law Decree no. 231

Law Decree no. 231 of 8th June 2001 introduced administrative responsibility of companies into the Italian regulatory framework for the crimes included in the Law Decree and committed by directors, executives or employees in the interest and to the advantage of the companies themselves.

The Law Decree provides for companies to implement a suitable Organizational Model to prevent such crimes being committed.
The system also requires the creation of an internal compliance function at the company with the task of supervising the functioning, efficiency and compliance with the Model and the updating of the same.
