Processing and clearing solutions offered by SIA as a SEPA ACH for the interbank management of SEPA Credit Transfer (SCT) and Direct Debit (SDD) Core and B2B instruments in compliance with current SEPA standards.
In STEP2, retail collections and payments are sent in file format to the EBA/SIA central system, where they are processed by offset and transferred for settlement to TARGET2.
SEDA is an additional optional service for SEPA Direct Debits, which involves the exchange of mandate information between the Beneficiary (creditor) and the Payer's PSP, via an alignment PSP.
SIA also processes on behalf of EBA Clearing the STEP2 Card Clearing messages based on the SEPA Card Clearing (SCC) Framework, mainly used by the German banking community. The SCC Framework leverages the ISO 20022 payments infrastructures and the governance and change management of the SCC Framework extension resides with the Berlin Group, of which SIA has been a member since its foundation.
The SCC Framework has received the label of the European Cards Stakeholders Group (ECSG) as conformant to the SEPA Cards Standardisation Volume Version 8.0. The ECSG is a multi-stakeholder association in charge of cards standardisation in the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA). SIA has been sitting on its board since its foundation in 2016 and of its predecessor informal group the CSG since 2009.
