Terminal Handling

The Acquiring Terminal Handling service allows to receive transactions from payment terminals and route them to the relevant destination (Acquirer or Issuer host).

The service allows the equipment used for electronic acceptance of payment cards (POS and mPOS devices and EFT Server equipment installed at retail outlets and hotels), to route payment transactions to the destination Issuer financial institutions. This means receiving transactions from the terminal and routing them, after converting them to the appropriate protocol, to the Acquirer host or (in case of on-us transaction management) to the Issuer host.

The payment terminals are connected to the Terminal Handling system which converts protocols and routes the transactions to the right destination (Acquirer or Issuer host).

Advantages:
  • high security and performance levels
  • flexibility (e.g. protocols)
  • full integration with SIA's services (Switch Gateway and Acquiring Merchant Management).
